Larry King One of Best-Known Figures in TV History

The In View Series Features Hall of Fame TV Host Larry King

Hall of Fame broadcaster Larry King hosts the In View series on cable television.

Erstwhile cable television host Larry King has worked in the media for more than half a century, becoming one of the best-known media figures in history. The long-time CNN host made the successful transition from radio host to TV in 1985, and went on to host “Larry King Live” for a quarter-century, becoming a pop culture icon in the process. King, who started his lengthy career as a radio host in South Florida in the 1950s, continued working on radio as he hosted his TV show, with his call-in radio show running into the mid-1990s. Although King’s show on CNN ended in 2010, the Hall of Fame broadcaster has not quite hung up his trademark suspenders yet, as he continues to host a TV program called the In View Series hosted by Larry King, which reaches television audiences across the United States on cable outlets such as the Discovery Channel.

King Has Succeeded in Multiple Formats

Although Howard Stern has dubbed himself the “King of All Media,” one could argue that Larry King deserves the title more. King’s longevity and success in both broadcasting and print media has made him arguably the most famous broadcaster of all time. In addition to his national radio audience, King’s TV show reached audiences nationwide and international audiences for a quarter-century. King has appeared in numerous movies and television programs over the years, including movies like “Ghostbusters,” “Contact” and “Bee Movie.” King, a member of the National Radio Hall of Fame and the Broadcasters Hall of Fame, also wrote a regular column for USA Today, and he has authored multiple books.
